For many of us, spring marks the time to clean out our cluttered closets and garages, but we often don't consider making time to clean out and reflect on our emotional lives. In our series, we explored the various means that people use to lead more balanced lives. In this issue, we take a special look at the power of forgiveness and letting go, how practicing mindfulness can be a simple way to reconnect with yourself, how laughter is truly the best medicine, and other positive emotional strategies that pave a path towards happiness.

Colombia is a country with frequent kidnappings, often with tragic results. Such was the case of a father who reported his 11-month-old son kidnapped, then joined in the frantic search for his missing child.
